This differential pinion gear shim set is a genuine Team Associated option part used to set proper mesh and end play for the pinion gear inside the differential on the Apex2 touring and sport chassis lineup, the RC10 4x4 rally platform, the RC10B74 through B74.2D buggies, the RC10B84, B84 Classic, B84D, and B84D Classic buggies, and the RC10T84 Team truck. Made from thin, precisely stamped plastic, the shims stack behind the pinion gear to fine-tune its position relative to the ring gear, reducing gear noise, backlash, and uneven tooth wear that result from improper spacing after a differential rebuild. As a direct replacement for lost or damaged factory shims, this set restores correct gear mesh and smooth differential operation, protecting more expensive internal diff components from premature wear caused by a poorly shimmed pinion. It also functions as a tuning aid, letting racers fine-tune diff feel and efficiency to personal preference.
