Description
This 78 tooth, 48 pitch gear serves as the spur and differential gear on Team Associated pan car platforms, mounting directly to the ball differential on the RC10L3O, RC10L3T, RC10L4O, and RC12L3O.
Gear selection is how final drive gets set on these cars. Pairing this 78T with different pinion sizes moves rollout up for more speed down a long straight or down for more punch out of a tight infield section, all without changing anything else in the drivetrain. As a 48 pitch gear it meshes with the standard 48P pinions you already have in the pit box, and it drops onto the diff hub in the stock position as a direct replacement for the original part.
Spur and diff gears are consumables. A stripped tooth, a rounded gear, or a section flat-spotted by a mesh that was set too tight will chatter under power and eventually fail outright, usually at the worst possible moment. Keeping a spare or two on the bench turns that failure into a few minutes of work instead of the end of your race day.
