Description
This Team Associated pinion gear has 35 teeth in 48 pitch and fits a 1/8 inch motor shaft. Mounted on the motor shaft, it meshes with the spur gear to set the final drive ratio, and at 35 teeth it is a tall pinion suited to on-road use or to tracks with long straights where top speed matters more than acceleration.
Fitting a larger pinion raises the gearing and increases speed, but it also increases the load on the motor, so temperatures should be checked after a run and the gearing reduced if the motor runs hot. Correct mesh with the spur gear matters: set it so there is a small amount of backlash, then tighten the set screw onto the flat of the motor shaft.
It fits the RC10 Classic and RC10CC, the RC10B4.2, RC10B5 and RC10B5M buggies, the RC10B44.2 and B44.3, the RC10T4.2, RC10T4.3 and RC10T5M trucks, the TC6.2 and TC7 touring cars, and the SC10B, SC10.2, SC10.3 and RC10SC5M short course trucks.
