Description
The Team Associated ASC81706 spur gear is a 46 tooth, Mod 1 spur for the RC8B4.2 platform. The spur gear meshes with the pinion to set final drive ratio, which determines how the car trades acceleration off the corner against top speed down the straight.
Gearing is one of the most effective tuning changes available at the track. Fitting this 46 tooth spur alongside different pinions lets you dial in the ratio for a tight, technical layout or a fast, open track, and to manage drivetrain and motor temperatures over the length of a main. Carrying a range of spur gears means you can react to track conditions rather than being stuck with one ratio.
This Mod 1 spur fits the RC8B4.2, RC8B4.2 EURO, and the electric RC8B4.2e, installing on the stock spur mounting with no modification. Spur teeth wear and can strip after a bad mesh or a hard impact, so keeping fresh spares on hand prevents a stripped gear from ending your day.
