These Team Associated ASC81698 brake pad springs are the soft-rate version of the brake springs used in the RC8B4.2 braking system. The springs return the brake pads and set how firmly the brake engages, which directly affects pedal feel and how progressively the car slows into a corner.
The soft rate gives a lighter, more progressive brake feel compared to firmer springs, which many drivers prefer for smoother braking on slick or low-grip surfaces where a sharp brake can upset the car. Adjusting brake spring rate is a simple, inexpensive way to fine-tune braking response without changing pads or linkage setup.
These springs fit the RC8B4.2, RC8B4.2 EURO, the electric RC8B4.2e, and the RC8T4.2 truggy, installing in the stock brake assembly with no modification. Brake springs take constant heat and load and eventually lose tension, so keeping fresh ones on hand restores consistent braking and keeps your setup predictable through a long race weekend.
