Description
These are the height adjustment inserts used with the adjustable height gearboxes on the RC8B4.2 platform.
They sit between the gearbox and its mounting position to set how high or low the gearbox rides on the chassis, which in turn changes the roll center at that end of the car. Roll center height controls how quickly weight transfers as the chassis rolls, so moving it is a fast, low cost way to add steering or rear traction without changing springs, shock oils or arm positions. Because they are small parts, keeping the full set in the pit box means you can make the change between rounds.
Fitment covers the RC8B4.2 EURO and RC8B4.2e buggies plus the RC8T4.2e truggy, used together with the matching adjustable height front and rear gearbox cases. They install with the standard gearbox screws and need no other modification to the chassis. Replace them if they become deformed, since a damaged insert lets the gearbox move under load and upsets gear mesh.
