Description
A differential gear set sized for the 18mm HTC differential used in the RC8B4 platform.
These are the gears that live inside the diff case and transfer drive from the ring gear to the outdrives, letting the two wheels on that axle rotate at different speeds through a corner. Diff gears wear over time, and worn or chipped teeth show up as a notchy feeling diff, inconsistent power delivery and eventually a diff that will not hold its silicone oil properly. Replacing the internals during a scheduled rebuild restores smooth action and predictable on power steering.
This 18mm HTC set fits the RC8B4 and RC8B4.2 eighth scale buggies, in the differential position that uses the 18mm size. Because these match the factory specification they install into the existing diff case with the standard cross pins, shims and seals, needing no modification. Fit fresh diff gaskets and refill with the silicone oil weight from your setup sheet at the same time for the best result.
