Description
These 16mm rear springs are rated at 3.50 lb/in with an 83mm free length and 10.25 coils, near the soft end of Team Associated's 1.50mm wire rear range for the RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e.
The full rear range covers 3.40 to 3.75 lb/in, softer than the 3.7 lb/in rear spring that comes in the kit, and exists for ungroomed, bumpy tracks where the previous 1.6mm wire springs work well on high grip but give up rear traction as the surface deteriorates. The 1.5mm wire diameter changes natural frequency and wire stress so the spring compresses sooner, helping the rear tires follow rough ground and hold forward drive out of corners.
Rear free length was shortened from 86mm to 83mm to suit the lower shock towers used on the RC8B4.1, with fronts in the same family reduced to 68mm. Rates step in 0.25 coil increments for fine control over rear grip, and both ends of each spring are marked so 1.5D wire is not mixed with 1.6D.
