Description
This 48-tooth spur gear drives the center transmission on the RC8T4e and RC8B4.1e, meshing with the motor pinion to set the vehicle's primary gear ratio.
It is cut in Mod 1 pitch, the coarse tooth profile used on 1/8 scale electric platforms because it handles the torque these motors produce without stripping. The gear is molded in plastic, which keeps rotating mass low and lets the spur act as the sacrificial component in the driveline: in a hard hit or a locked-up rotation, the gear gives way before the transmission housing or the motor shaft does.
Tooth count directly affects gearing, so pairing this 48T spur with different pinions shifts the balance between acceleration and top speed and influences motor temperatures over a run. It installs on the standard spur gear mounting position as a direct replacement for the factory item, requiring no modification, and it is a routine wear part once teeth show chipping or the mesh becomes noisy. Set mesh carefully after fitting.
