Description
This is the FWB/RWB chassis for the RC8B4e, developed during 2023 after Team Associated drivers asked for a way to shift weight rearward on lower grip, ungroomed tracks.
It gives you two mounting positions for the motor and center differential, so weight distribution becomes a setup option rather than something fixed at build time. In the forward position the car delivers maximum steering. In the rearward position the added weight over the rear increases rear grip and reduces load on the front end, which is the setup you want when traction is low or the surface is rough and uneven. Running the rearward configuration installs the drivetrain in the reverse orientation compared to the original kit layout, which further improves rear grip under acceleration.
The chassis fits the RC8B4e and RC8B4.1e. Owners updating an existing car should note that the adapter and 96.5mm dogbone set, part 81645, is required alongside this chassis to complete the conversion.
