Description
These 0.85 mm clutch springs are tuning components for the Team Associated four-shoe adjustable clutch system used on 1/8 scale nitro racing platforms. Clutch spring rate sets the engine RPM at which the shoes swing out and lock against the clutch bell, so swapping springs is the primary way to dial in how and when the vehicle applies power.
The 0.85 mm wire is on the lighter end of the range, giving an earlier, softer engagement that suits low-traction, slick or bumpy tracks where a soft hookup helps the tires find grip off the corner. Heavier wire diameters delay engagement for more punch on high-bite surfaces.
This set fits the RC8B3.1, RC8B4.2 and RC8B4.2 EURO. Springs are consumable, and heat cycling makes them lose tension over time, so fresh springs restore consistent, repeatable engagement instead of the gradual softening that comes with a used set. They install as direct replacements in the stock four-shoe clutch with no machining or modification needed.
