Description
This piston set gives you three tuning options for the 16mm big-bore shocks on Team Associated's 1/8 scale buggies and truggies. Included are two 6 x 1.3 flat pistons, two 6 x 1.3 tapered pistons, and two 8 x 1.2 tapered pistons, for six pistons total.
The piston is what meters oil inside the shock body, so hole count and diameter set how much damping the shock produces, while the tapered face changes how the shock behaves through the middle of its stroke compared with a flat piston. Fewer, larger holes free the shock up, more or smaller holes pack it, and switching between flat and tapered is a common way to fine-tune landings and bump handling without changing oil weight.
