Description
These shock body seal retainers hold the shaft seal stack in the bottom of the big-bore shock bodies on Team Associated's 1/8 scale buggies and truggies. The retainer threads or presses into the lower end of the body and clamps the seals and spacers against the shaft, setting the preload that keeps oil in and dirt out while still letting the shaft slide freely.
A retainer that is stripped, cracked, or over-compressed causes leaking shocks, added stiction, and damping that changes over a run. Fresh retainers let you build every shock to the same seal pressure.
