Description
This brake pad spring is the replacement tension spring for the brake assembly used across Team Associated's RC8 series 1:8 scale off-road platforms. It sits in the brake mechanism and returns the brake pads away from the disc once you release the brake input, keeping the pads from dragging and preventing the heat build-up and lost speed that a sticking brake causes.
A spring that has taken a season of heat cycles will lose tension, so replacing it restores crisp, repeatable brake release and consistent pedal feel from the transmitter. It fits the RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.2, RC8T3, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.2, RC8T3.2e, RC8B4, RC8B4.1, and RC8T4, installing in the brake assembly at the center differential.
This is a direct replacement for the original spring, with no modification needed and no change to brake setup. Because it is an inexpensive wear item that sits deep in the drivetrain, most racers replace it during regular differential and brake service rather than waiting for brake performance to fall off at the track.
