Description
The Team Associated ASC81021 106 mm center universal is the longer of the two center driveshafts that transfer power from the transmission to the differentials. The universal joint design holds a smooth drive angle as the chassis flexes and the suspension cycles, which delivers power more consistently than a dogbone setup and reduces the binding and vibration that come from running a loaded driveline at an angle.
Wear concentrates at the cross pins and joints, and once there is play in the shaft you will feel it as driveline slop and hear it as a click under throttle. Left long enough, a worn center shaft can fail outright and end your run. Keeping a spare center universal in the pit box is standard practice for anyone racing 1/8 scale.
This is the 106 mm length, so check your chassis manual for the correct shaft position. It fits the RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, and RC8B4.
