Description
The Team Associated ASC81020 76 mm center universal is the driveshaft that carries power between the transmission and one of the differentials. Universal style shafts keep the drive angle smooth as the suspension moves through its travel, which means more consistent power delivery than a dogbone and less of the vibration and binding you get when the drivetrain is loaded at an angle.
The pins and cross joints are the wear points, and a worn center universal shows up as driveline play, noise under power, and in the worst case a shaft that lets go mid race. Because it sits in the middle of the drivetrain, replacing it restores drive to both ends of the car at once. This is the 76 mm length, so confirm which shaft position and length your chassis uses.
