Description
The Team Associated ASC7429 front shock springs are rated at 3.45 lb/in and fit the front shocks on the SC10, SC10B, SC10GT, RC10T4.1 and RC10T3. Spring rate is one of the most direct tuning changes available on these trucks: a softer front spring generally gives more forward bite and a more compliant ride over rough ground, while a stiffer one resists dive under braking and sharpens turn-in response.
Springs also fatigue. After a season of running they settle, lose rate and no longer match the pair on the other end of the car, which quietly makes the truck feel unbalanced even though the setup sheet has not changed. Replacing them restores the handling you originally dialed in.
These are direct factory replacements, so they fit the stock front shock bodies and spring cups with no modification or extra parts. Keeping several rates on hand lets you adjust the front end to track conditions between runs rather than living with whatever is already fitted.
