Description
The Team Associated ASC7117 gearbox set includes the front and rear gearbox housings used in the four-wheel-drive driveline of the ProLite 4x4, ProSC 4x4 and ProRally. These cases hold the differential, outdrives and supporting bearings at each end of the car, and they locate the diff relative to the center driveshaft, so their condition directly affects how smoothly and quietly the drivetrain runs.
Gearbox cases are structural. A hard landing, a wheel-to-wheel hit or a rock strike can crack a housing or open up a bearing pocket, and once the case flexes the gear mesh changes under load, which shows up as noise, drag and accelerated wear on the gears inside. Replacing a damaged case is far cheaper than replacing everything it protects.
This is the factory replacement set, so both housings drop straight into the stock chassis with your existing internals and hardware. It is a sensible spare to keep on the bench for any 4x4 short course or rally build that sees regular running.
