Description
These Team Associated 5-40 locknuts are nylon-insert nuts used throughout the chassis wherever a fastener must stay tight under vibration. The nylon insert grips the thread as the nut is tightened, preventing it from backing off during running while still allowing the nut to be removed and refitted during maintenance.
They are a direct replacement for the locknuts supplied in the kit and fit a wide range of Associated vehicles, including the RC10 Classic, RC10CC, RC10 4WD, RC10 4WD Jay Halsey Chain Drive and RC10 Factory Team, along with the RC10B3, RC10B4.1 and RC10B4.2 buggies, the RC10T3, RC10T4.1, RC10T4.2 and RC10T4.3 trucks, and the SC10, SC10B, SC10GT, SC10.2 and SC10.3 short course trucks.
Because these are legacy RC10 Classic and reissue platforms, keeping a supply of fresh locknuts on hand is worthwhile when rebuilding. Replace any nut whose insert has lost its grip, as a nut that spins on freely can no longer be relied on to hold a suspension or driveline fastener.
