Description
The Team Associated ASC4787 Damper Tube Shafts are replacement damper internals for the RC10F6 and RC12R6 pan car chassis. The shaft slides through the damper tube as the suspension moves, and the fit between the two is what generates the damping the car relies on to control chassis movement over bumps and through direction changes.
Damping quality in this style of unit depends entirely on the surface condition of the shaft. Once a shaft has been scored, pitted, or bent, the damping action becomes inconsistent through the stroke and the car will feel different from one run to the next even with identical settings. Because a damper problem imitates a setup problem so closely, replacing tired shafts is often the fastest way to get a car responding predictably again.
These are direct replacements for the damper tube shafts supplied with the RC10F6 and RC12R6, fitting the existing damper components with no modification required. Installation is part of a normal damper service, and keeping a spare set means you can rebuild between heats rather than racing a unit you no longer trust.
