Description
The Team Associated ASC4616 spur gear is an 88 tooth, 64 pitch gear that mounts to the drive axle and meshes with the motor pinion to set final drive ratio. Along with pinion choice, the spur determines how much gear reduction the car runs, which controls acceleration, top speed, and how much heat the motor and speed control build over the length of a run.
The fine 64 pitch tooth profile keeps the mesh quiet and efficient, which matters on 1:12 scale cars where drivetrain losses are a meaningful share of the available power.
This is the 88 tooth spur supplied in kit form on the RC10F6 and RC12R6, so it is an exact replacement for the gear your car came with. Spur gears wear, and a chipped or notched tooth will damage the pinion and eventually cost you a race, so replacing one at the first sign of damage is cheap insurance. Also useful as a stocked gearing option for longer or shorter tracks.
