The CR12 Step Gear is a replacement transmission gear for the Team Associated CR12 rock crawler platform, sharing fitment with the MT12 Monster Truck and MT12 Monster Van. Positioned between the main drive gear and the output stage, the step gear provides the intermediate reduction that helps deliver the low-end torque a scale crawler needs to climb rocks and technical obstacles at a slow, controlled pace. Molded to precise tooth tolerances from a durable engineering material, it is designed to mesh smoothly with its mating gears while standing up to the repeated torque loading typical of crawling and rock climbing. Replacing a worn or chipped step gear restores clean, quiet power transfer through the gearbox and eliminates the grinding or binding that develops as teeth wear down from dirt, grit, or extended use. This is a direct factory replacement for a damaged original gear, letting owners refresh their transmission without a full gearbox rebuild.
