Description
This is the input pinion gear for the Team Associated CR12 rock crawler, also compatible with the MT12 Monster Truck, Monster Van, and RC10 4X4 Pickup Truck platforms. The input pinion gear mounts inside the gearbox on the input shaft and is the first gear in the reduction train to receive power from the main drive pinion, setting up the torque multiplication that gives the CR12 its low-speed crawling capability. Molded to precise tooth tolerances from a wear-resistant material, it is built to mesh smoothly and resist stripping under the sustained torque loads typical of technical rock crawling, holding up better than a gear that has already begun to show worn or chipped teeth. Replacing a worn input pinion gear restores smooth power transfer through the gearbox and reduces drivetrain noise and slop that can develop with age and use. This is a direct factory replacement for the original equipment input pinion gear, intended to keep the internal gear train running as designed rather than to change overall gearing. Keeping this gear in good condition protects the rest of the internal gear train from added wear.
