Description
These DCV retainer sleeves are a drivetrain component for the Team Associated RC10TC8. They fit over the double cardan joint on the driveshafts and hold the pins and cross members in place, keeping the joint assembled and properly aligned as it articulates through suspension travel and steering input.
Double cardan shafts are what let a touring car maintain smooth, consistent power delivery at large steering angles, where a conventional universal joint would bind and pulse. That advantage depends entirely on the joint staying tight, so the retainer sleeves take constant load and are a known wear item.
A stretched or split sleeve allows the joint pins to walk out, which introduces slop into the front end and eventually lets the driveshaft come apart mid-run. Replacing them during a routine drivetrain rebuild is cheap insurance against a DNF. Fits the TC8 Graphite-Spec and TC8 Steel-Spec chassis as a direct replacement for the stock sleeves, installing onto your existing DCV driveshafts with no other changes required.
