Description
The Team Associated ASC31887 Apex2 Ring and Pinion Gear set is the bevel gear pair inside the gearbox that turns drive from the center driveline into rotation at the axles. The ring gear has 34 teeth and the pinion gear has 13 teeth, giving a final drive ratio of 2.6 for the two gears in the Apex2.
Bevel gears wear steadily under load, and a chipped or rounded tooth brings noise, lost efficiency, and eventually a failure that strands the car mid-run. Because the ring and pinion wear together as a matched pair, they should always be replaced together rather than individually. This set is a direct replacement for the factory gears and installs into the stock gearbox with your existing bearings and shims, so no modification is required. Fitment covers the Apex2, Apex2 Sport, Apex2 Sport A550, Apex2 Sport ST550, Apex2 Sport Nissan Z, and Apex2 Hoonigan.
