Description
These bearing caps are the replacement retainers for the Team Associated TC7 and TC7.1 touring cars. Bearing caps clamp the drivetrain bearings into their pockets in the bulkheads, holding them square and preventing them from walking under the loads that the belts and gears apply during acceleration and braking.
Keeping a bearing properly located is what maintains correct gear and belt alignment across the drivetrain. When a cap wears or loosens, the bearing moves in its seat, which shows up as extra drivetrain noise, uneven belt wear, higher drag, and lost power on the way to the wheels. Left alone it accelerates wear on far more expensive components.
This set is a direct replacement for the caps fitted to the TC7 platform, installing in the original locations with no modification needed. Fitting fresh caps restores solid bearing location and a smooth, quiet drivetrain, and it is worth doing whenever the car is stripped down for a full rebuild.
