Description
These shock shafts are direct replacements for the Team Associated Apex2 Rally Conversion. The shaft carries the piston through the shock body and passes through the seals at the bottom cap, so its straightness and surface finish determine how smoothly the shock strokes and how well it holds oil.
Shafts take a beating in rally use. Curb strikes, hard landings, and roll-overs can bend a shaft, and grit dragged past the seal scores the surface. A bent shaft binds in the body and kills small bump compliance, while a scored one chews through seals and leaks oil until the damping goes away entirely. Either problem shows up as a car that skates over rough surfaces and stops responding to setup changes.
Replace shafts in pairs so both ends of the axle behave the same way. These install into the existing Apex2 Rally shock bodies and use the stock pistons, seals, and hardware, so no modification is required.
