Description
This is the aluminum motor mount for the Team Associated SR7. The motor mount fixes the motor to the chassis and holds it in position relative to the spur gear, so it is responsible for maintaining correct gear mesh between the pinion and spur throughout a run. Slotted adjustment allows the mesh to be set precisely when gearing is changed.
The aluminum construction is a strength upgrade that resists flexing under motor torque, which keeps the mesh consistent instead of allowing it to open up under load. Aluminum also conducts heat away from the motor into the chassis, offering a modest benefit in motor temperature.
Fits the Team Associated SR7 platform. A motor mount that flexes or has worn mounting holes lets the motor shift, and inconsistent mesh is a leading cause of stripped spur gears and unusual drivetrain noise. Fitting a rigid mount holds the motor securely and protects the gears it drives.
