Description
This is the 15-tooth, Mod 1 pinion gear for the Team Associated SR7. The pinion mounts on the motor shaft and drives the spur gear, and the tooth count chosen sets the overall gear ratio of the car. A smaller pinion gears the car down for stronger acceleration and lower motor temperatures, while a larger one raises top speed at the cost of additional load on the motor.
The 15-tooth Mod 1 profile matches the pinion used in the SR7 kit, making this a direct replacement that restores stock gearing when fitted.
Fits the Team Associated SR7 platform. Pinions wear steadily because the small tooth count means every tooth engages far more often than a spur tooth does, and a worn pinion accelerates wear on the spur gear it meshes with. Replacing a worn pinion is inexpensive insurance against damaging the more costly spur, and correct mesh should be set whenever the gear is changed.
