Description
This is the 45-tooth, Mod 1 spur gear for the Team Associated SR7. The spur gear meshes with the motor pinion to transmit power from the motor into the drivetrain, and together with the pinion it sets the overall gear ratio that determines the balance between acceleration and top speed as well as how hard the motor works.
The 45-tooth Mod 1 tooth profile is a direct replacement for the spur gear used in the SR7 kit, so fitting it returns the car to its original gearing without any other changes to the drivetrain or motor position.
Fits the Team Associated SR7 platform. Spur gears are wear items that lose teeth from a bad mesh, from debris finding its way into the gear train, or simply from accumulated running time. A stripped or chipped spur causes noise, lost drive, and eventually failure, so keeping a spare on hand avoids ending a run day early.
