Description
The Team Associated ASC25927 pinion gear is an 11 tooth Mod 1 gear for the Rival MT8, mounting on the motor shaft and driving the spur gear. Pinion tooth count sets the overall gear ratio, which controls the balance between acceleration off the corner and top speed down the straight, so having the right pinion on hand is a basic tuning requirement.
Pinions wear over time and can be damaged by a stripped mesh, a slipped set screw, or debris pulled into the gear train. A worn pinion chews the spur quickly, so replacing it early protects the more expensive part behind it.
This gear is a direct replacement for the Mod 1 pinion used on the Rival MT8 and installs on the stock motor shaft with the stock set screw. Fitment is specific to the Rival MT8 platform. Keep a spare in the pit box so a damaged gear does not end a session, and always set your mesh carefully after fitting a new one.
