Description
The Team Associated RC24 ZOOM Pinion Gear, 15 tooth, is the small motor-shaft gear that meshes with the spur gear to transfer power from the motor into the RC24 ZOOM Rally RTR's drivetrain. Precision-cut from durable gear material, this pinion is manufactured to maintain accurate tooth engagement, which reduces drivetrain noise and minimizes wear on both the pinion itself and the mating spur gear compared to a worn or chipped original gear. As a direct OEM replacement, it matches the stock 15-tooth count and shaft bore of the factory pinion, so it can be swapped in using the same set screw and gear mesh setup without needing any other drivetrain changes. Replacing a stripped, chipped, or excessively worn pinion gear restores smooth, quiet power transfer and prevents further damage to the spur gear that can result from a damaged pinion continuing to mesh improperly. This is a maintenance and repair part rather than a performance upgrade, intended to return the ZOOM's drivetrain to factory-correct operation. Since pinion gears are a wear item subject to regular friction and heat, keeping a spare on hand helps avoid downtime when the original gear reaches the end of its service life.
