Description
The Team Associated ASC21827 SR27 Motor Plate and Pinion Gear Set combines the mounting plate that holds the motor to the chassis with the pinion gear that transmits its output into the drivetrain. Both parts are working components: the plate holds the gear mesh in position under load, while the pinion wears with running and is also the main lever for changing the gearing of the car.
This set is designed for the SR27 platform, so the plate matches the motor mounting positions on that chassis and the pinion suits the drivetrain fitted to it, installing without modification. A damaged or bent motor plate makes it impossible to hold a consistent gear mesh, which quickly leads to worn gears elsewhere in the drivetrain.
Supplied as a direct replacement for the parts fitted to the SR27, these install in place of the originals using the existing hardware. The set is useful both as a repair after a hard impact and as spare gearing to keep on hand for the car.
