Description
The Team Associated ASC21802 motor pod set is the short wheelbase rear pod assembly for the SR27. On a pan car the motor pod carries the motor, the rear axle and the rear wheels, and pivots on the T-bar behind the chassis. Because it controls where the rear axle sits relative to the chassis, the pod also determines the car's wheelbase.
This set fits the SR27 and installs using the standard T-bar and mounting hardware, with no modification needed. The short wheelbase configuration shortens the car overall, which typically frees up rotation and helps it turn through tighter sections of track, making it a useful tuning alternative to the long wheelbase pod set.
The pod also serves as a direct replacement for one that has been cracked or distorted in a crash. A bent pod misaligns the rear axle, which shows up as uneven tire wear and inconsistent handling from corner to corner, so it is worth checking the pod for square after any heavy impact.
