Description
This is the Team Associated ASC21656 RC28R Rear Axle, Gear Differential. The gear differential is the heart of the rear drivetrain, splitting power between the left and right rear wheels and allowing them to rotate at different speeds through a corner. This keeps the chassis from binding on turn-in and helps the car put power down smoothly as it exits a corner.
This rear axle assembly fits the RC28 Team and RC28R Team platforms and installs into the rear gearbox as a direct replacement for the original unit. Because it is built to the factory specification, it drops into the existing gearbox housing and driveline without modification to your chassis or shock tower.
The gear differential is a wearing component that sees constant load, so replacing a worn or damaged unit restores consistent power delivery and steady handling. Fitting a fresh rear axle is also a convenient way to keep a spare drivetrain assembly built and ready in your pit box, so you can swap it in between heats rather than rebuilding the original at the track.
