Description
The ASC21551 Wide Wheels are direct replacement wheels for Team Associated's 1/14-scale off-road platforms, fitting the Reflex 14B, Reflex 14T, Reflex 14B Ongaro, and Reflex 14B Buggy. Front and rear wheel diameter measures 2.0 inches, and they use the factory hex and mounting dimensions for a bolt-on installation.
Wheels absorb a lot of abuse on a small off-road car. Hard landings, curb strikes, and cartwheels crack rims and pull them out of round, and once a wheel is bent the tire runs untrue, which introduces vibration and inconsistent grip well before the rim actually breaks apart.
The wide profile matches the wider tire sizing these platforms are designed around, maintaining the contact patch and traction balance engineered into the car. They also serve as the foundation for gluing up a new set of wide tires, so it is worth picking up a set alongside spare rubber and keeping a mounted backup pair on hand for quick swaps between runs.
