Description
The Mercedes-Benz Actros 1851 GigaSpace was named Truck of the Year in 2012, and Tamiya's 1/14 scale kit captures the real rig in remarkable detail. The cab features replica-quality body styling with a full array of metal chassis components for genuine heft and durability.
Power comes from a front-mounted motor that drives the rear wheels through a propeller shaft, with a 3-speed transmission that shifts gears via a 4-channel transmitter (sold separately). Built-in differential gears keep cornering smooth, and the aluminum-channel ladder frame with resin cross members gives the chassis the strength to handle a loaded trailer.
A coupler is included so the Actros can connect to any of Tamiya's current 1/14 scale trailers, opening the door to building out a full rig. This is an unassembled kit that requires paint, glue, a 4-channel radio system, ESC, and a 7.2V battery and charger to complete. A great option for hobbyists who want to build and detail a big-rig tractor truck from the ground up.
