Description
The Spektrum SPMS662 is an 18kg digital servo with a steel gear train and a 25 tooth output spline, supplied as original equipment in a wide range of ARRMA 4X4 vehicles including the Big Rock, Granite, Kraton, Mojave, Outcast, Senton, Typhon, and Vorteks.
Steering servos take punishment that most electronics never see. Every curb strike, rock impact, and hard landing sends force back through the steering linkage into the servo's gear train, which is why the gear material matters more than almost any other specification. Steel gears resist the shearing and tooth damage that plastic and composite gears suffer under those loads, making this servo far more survivable in a basher than a lightweight equivalent.
The digital design holds position more precisely and corrects faster than an analogue servo, which translates directly into tighter, more responsive steering feel. It operates across a 6.0V to 8.4V range, so it can be run at high voltage for increased torque where the receiver or BEC supports it.
The 25 tooth spline is the common standard across ARRMA vehicles, so this servo works with standard 25T servo horns and saver assemblies. It installs as a direct replacement for the original unit with no modification to the servo mount or linkage.
