Description
This threaded insert seats into the side guards on the Losi 5IVE-TG 3.0 and 5IVE-TE 3.0, giving screws a solid, wear-resistant thread to bite into instead of the surrounding plastic. Worn or stripped side guard threads are a common reason a side guard stops sitting flush.
With a fresh insert installed, the side guard sits flat against the chassis plate and stays properly aligned during installation, so it doesn't shift or gap under impact. It's a small, inexpensive part that saves a full side guard replacement when only the threads have failed.
Since it's a small, low-cost part, replacing worn inserts before they fail completely is an easy way to avoid a bigger repair to the side guard mount itself.
