A pair of threaded preload adjuster nuts for Kyosho's TF027S plastic oil shock set, in silver.
The adjuster nut screws up and down the shock body and sets spring preload, which in turn sets ride height. That makes it one of the more frequently used adjustments on a touring car, because ride height changes with track surface, tire wear and fuel or battery load, and being able to correct it in seconds without pulling the shock apart is the whole reason a threaded body exists.
The nut is also a wear part. Its thread engages the shock body constantly and is exposed to grit, and once the thread picks up damage the nut either binds or, worse, will no longer hold its position, so preload creeps as the car runs. A shock whose ride height drifts through a run is very difficult to diagnose from the driving.
Note this is the adjuster nut, not the spring. The spring for the same shock set is a separate part number, and the two are easy to confuse when ordering.
