Description
This is the 7075S brushed motor mount for the Kyosho Plazma Formula, sold as an option part.
The motor mount holds the motor to the chassis and sets its position relative to the spur gear, which is what determines gear mesh. That alignment is the whole job. A mount that flexes or shifts lets the mesh wander under load, and a wandering mesh runs noisy, wears the spur unevenly and eventually strips teeth.
On a 1/12 scale pan car the mount does more than that, though. These cars have very little chassis structure by design, and the motor mount is one of the few rigid components, so its stiffness contributes directly to how the rear of the car behaves. That is why racers treat it as a setup component rather than just a bracket.
The 7075S designation refers to the alloy grade in Kyosho's naming, though Kyosho does not state the material explicitly on the product page.
This is for brushed motors specifically. Kyosho lists it as an option part for the Plazma Formula.
