Description
This is the servo saver shaft set for Kyosho's Mad Force monster truck platform.
A servo saver sits between the steering servo and the linkage and is designed to give slightly under a sharp impact, so the shock load is absorbed there rather than stripping the gears inside your servo. On a monster truck that protection matters more than on most cars, because the tires are large and heavy and a wheel catching an obstacle at speed delivers a substantial jolt straight back down the steering line.
The shaft is the component the saver pivots and tensions against, so it carries that load every time. It wears at the bearing surfaces, and once it does the saver develops play. That shows up as steering that no longer returns to the same centre point and feels imprecise off centre, which is a frustrating fault because it feels like a servo or radio problem.
Replacing the shaft restores the saver to working properly rather than just protecting the servo while feeling loose. Some dealers list this part under the name servo saver tensioner. Fitment covers the Mad Force, Mad Force Kruiser and Kruiser VE, Twin Force and the FO-XX.
