Description
This is Kyosho's aluminum front upper plate for the Mini Inferno Half 8, anodized blue and sold as an option part.
The front upper plate ties the front of the chassis together and carries the upper suspension mounting points. Its rigidity matters more than it looks: a plate that flexes lets the front suspension geometry move around under cornering load, so camber and caster shift as the car loads up instead of staying where you set them. The car feels vague turning in and does not repeat the same behaviour from one corner to the next.
Replacing the standard plastic plate with aluminum removes that flex, which makes the front end noticeably more precise. It also survives the front-end impacts that crack a moulded plate outright, and on a small-scale car those impacts happen often because the car is light and easy to flip.
Kyosho names this specifically for the Mini Inferno Half 8, and dealers also list it for the Mini Inferno and Mini Inferno ST. Note that at least one dealer listing claims 1/8 scale Inferno fitment for this part, which is not supported by any Kyosho source.
