Description
A pair of 5 gram setting weights that mount to the front steering knuckles on Kyosho's Inferno MP9 and MP10.
Weight added at the front knuckle sits directly above the front contact patches, so it increases the static load on the front tires. That extra load is what generates grip, and the practical result is more steering, particularly on entry and through the middle of a corner where a 1/8 buggy often struggles for front bite. Kyosho's own description is direct about it: the weights attach to the front knuckle to increase tire load and change steering response.
It is a useful tool when the car understeers on a low-grip or dusty surface and you have already tried the obvious steering fixes. Because the change is at one end only, it also shifts the front-to-rear balance rather than just adding mass.
The trade-offs are more unsprung weight for the front suspension to control over bumps, and slightly slower direction changes.
At 5 grams each this is the smallest of Kyosho's three steps, for fine adjustment. Ten and fifteen gram versions are available separately. Two weights are supplied.
