Description
This is a complete Big Bore shock set in the M medium length, with Kyosho's Velvet Coating treatment applied to the bodies.
Velvet Coating is a low-friction surface treatment on the internal bore, and it exists to cut the sliding friction between the piston and the case wall. That friction is called stiction, and it is why an untreated shock can fail to respond to very small suspension inputs at all until enough force builds to break it free. Reducing it means the suspension reacts to ripples and washboard instead of skating across them, which shows up as a car that feels more planted on rough surfaces.
Buying the complete set rather than individual components matters when you are building or rebuilding a corner of the car, because everything is matched and you are not chasing individual part numbers mid-job.
Kyosho gives the shaft length as 62mm and the case length as 68mm, with 5mm inner diameter ball ends. This is the medium length, so confirm it is the size your car runs before ordering. Fitment covers the Inferno MP9, MP9 T.K.I and MP9e.
