Description
This is the rear shock stay for Kyosho's Inferno platform, in the black finish.
The shock stay is the tower the upper ends of both rear shocks bolt to, which makes it the anchor for the entire rear damping system. It takes the full load of every landing and every rut the back of the car hits, and its rigidity directly affects how the shocks behave: a stay that flexes absorbs part of every damping input before it reaches the chassis, and can let the two shocks work at slightly different rates side to side.
It also sets the upper shock mounting positions, which is the adjustment you use to change how much the rear rolls and how quickly the car responds to steering input.
Because it sits high on the chassis, it is one of the first things to take a hit in a rollover, and a bent or cracked stay changes your shock angle quietly, long before it fails outright. That makes it worth inspecting after any heavy crash rather than waiting for it to break.
This is the genuine Kyosho part at the original dimensions, so your existing shock positions and rear camber settings carry over once fitted.
