Description
The Axial AXP8 Gilamon 2.2 is a 1/8 scale ready-to-run 4X4 rock crawler built for serious trail and obstacle work. It's powered by a brushed drivetrain paired with heavy-duty, high-clearance AF16P portal axles front and rear, giving it strong ground clearance for climbing over rocks, ledges, and technical terrain that smaller rigs can't handle. The standout feature is ASD (Axial Selectable Drive) on the rear axle, an advanced alternative to traditional cutting brakes that can lock either rear wheel individually for a tighter turning radius and sharper low-speed control on the trail.
Riding on a 2.2-inch wheel and tire setup with the AXP8 platform underneath, this buggy is built specifically for hardcore rock crawling rather than casual driving or overlanding. The AT6 transmission works with the portal axles to deliver strong low-end torque for crawling over obstacles at a controlled pace.
As a ready-to-run model, it comes fully assembled and set up to run out of the box, making it a strong option for hobbyists who want Axial's most advanced crawling platform without building from a kit.
