Description
The ARRMA ARAC6981 Short Course Side Guard Set is a genuine factory replacement set of side guards for ARRMA short course truck platforms.
Side guards, sometimes called mud guards or side skirts, run along the outside of the chassis between the front and rear wheels. On a short course truck they serve a specific purpose that comes straight from full size short course racing: they stop the wheels of another vehicle interlocking with yours in close quarters, and they keep dirt, mud, and debris thrown by the front tires from being flung up into the chassis and electronics.
They also protect the chassis itself. In a roll or a side impact, the guards take the abrasion that would otherwise land directly on the chassis rails and suspension components, and they are far cheaper to replace than what sits behind them.
Because they are sacrificial by design, side guards wear, crack, and tear loose at their mounting tabs over time. Running without them exposes the chassis and lets debris collect where it causes wear.
This set is a direct factory replacement that installs in the stock mounting locations with no modification or drilling required.
