ARRMA ARA722422 Flat Head Screw M4x22mm

The ARRMA ARA722422 is an M4x22mm flat head screw, used as chassis and suspension hardware across ARRMA vehicles including the Kraton 6S platform.

Flat head screws are specified where the fastener has to finish flush with or below the surface it secures. The tapered underside of the head seats into a matching countersunk hole, pulling the screw into alignment as it tightens and leaving nothing standing proud. That matters in places like skid plates, chassis rails, and body mounting hardware, where a raised head would drag on the ground, catch debris, or interfere with a part sitting above it.

The countersink also does something useful mechanically. Because the tapered head self-centres in its seat, a flat head screw locates the components it joins more precisely than a flat-bottomed head would, which helps keep alignment consistent through repeated disassembly.

The trade-off is that the head is thinner at the outer edge and the hex socket is shallower than on a cap head of equivalent size. That makes flat heads more prone to rounding out if a worn or incorrectly sized driver is used, so they are worth replacing rather than fighting once the drive starts to slip.
