Description
The ARRMA ARA330845 Shock Shaft set contains two 3x67mm steel shock shafts, compatible with the ARRMA Big Rock 4X4 3S BLX. The shock shaft runs through the shock cap and seal assembly and carries the piston up and down inside the shock body, converting suspension movement into controlled damping.
At 67mm these are the longer shafts in the 3mm family, paired with the taller shock assemblies on the vehicle. Steel construction gives a 3mm shaft the strength to resist bending under the loads a monster truck generates on landings and hard impacts, which matters because a bent shaft is one of the most common failures after a crash. Once tweaked, the shaft binds through the seals, makes damping feel sticky and inconsistent, and quickly chews out the O-rings until the shock starts weeping oil.
The polished surface finish is what lets the seals slide freely without tearing, so it directly determines how long a rebuild stays leak free. Fitting fresh shafts protects the seals and restores plush, consistent shock action.
These are direct factory replacements that install in the stock shock bodies with no modification, working with the standard pistons and hardware. Two shafts are included, enough for one pair of shocks.
